United Way raises $1.2M to address mounting local food insecurity

The city announced on Thursday that it will allocate $250,000 to United Way of Central Massachusetts' United Response Fund, which will be used to provide food and heating assistance to residents.

Esler Family Foundation adds $100K matching donation to United Way’s emergency fund
The Esler Family Foundation’s donation brings its total contribution to the United Response Fund up to $200,000, after an initial investment of $100,000 the foundation made last month, according to a press release issued by UWCM on Monday.
