United Way of Central Massachusetts is able to connect reporters to dozens of experts in a wide variety of fields.  Within the three focus areas United Way supports, children, youth, and people most in need, United Way can serve as reference and referral for information on the following topics:

Children:
The importance of early childhood education
Developing parenting skills
Developmental milestones for children
High-quality, early education and care

Youth:
Positive Youth Development
Future Economic Opportunities for Youth
Mental Health and Well Being for Youth
Financial Literacy for Middle School Girls
Middle School Girls and their educational, emotional, and physical development
Youth and summer employment

People Most in Need:
Crises Intervention
Meeting basic needs such as clothing, food, heat, or shelter
Financial Stability and Tax Preparation
Workforce development and education programs

United Way is also able to serve as a resource for volunteer management and volunteer opportunities, partnership with AFL/CIO, and various non-profit management related issues.
