Member Celebration On June 6, 2007, Phyllis Pollack and Peter Metz, with help from their daughter Sarah, opened their beautiful home and gardens to thank Women’s Initiative members for their generosity and commitment. Over 80 members attended the afternoon reception in Westwood Hills in Worcester, enjoying beautiful weather. Hors d' oeuvres, spirits, and good company made for a wonderful afternoon! Kay Bassett, Chair of the WI, introduced the 2007 Grant Recipients to the members, and directors of each of the 5 programs thanked members and told about the important work their gifts were making possible. Kay shared her gratitude as she wrapped up her two year term as Chair, announcing that Wendy O’Leary would be taking over as chairperson of the Women’s Initiative. The grant recipients were All Kinds of Girls at Clark University ($15,000); Camp Reach at Worcester Polytechnic Institute ($17,858); Dance, Dance, Exercise! at Family Health Center ($44,657); Girls Promoting Safety at Girls Incorporated ($62,613), and Latina Achievers in Search of Success at Latino Education Institute at Worcester State College ($34,872).
