Inspire By Example AwardsUnited Way of Central Massachusetts honors the outstanding work of volunteers with our Inspire by Example Awards. Dedicated volunteers who demonstrate a commitment to community service are selected to receive special recognition during National Volunteer Week. They are chosen from three categories: youth, adult and business and are recognized for the valuable work they do to strengthen the community. Youth: Jean Clemente
As a volunteer with the Worcester Youth Center, Jean is a positive role model for his peers. He does well in class and assists other students with homework after school. Jean is active in Youth Center activities and serves on committees including the Teen Action Group (TAG). He often volunteers to assist staff with programming needs. Too often the term “youth” is viewed as an issue to be solved. Jean demonstrates that youth are an amazing and perhaps untapped asset in the community; that they have much to contribute. |
