Alexis de Tocqueville Award "With Grateful Appreciation for Providing Leadership in Philanthropy"James and Nancy Coghlin
In addition to being generous de Tocqueville donors, Jim and Nancy Coghlin also represent three generations of distinguished United Way leadership. Jim's father, Edwin (Ted) B. Coghlin, Sr., served as President of the Board of Directors and chaired the 1951 Annual Campaign. The community was fortunate to have Jim lead the Campaign in 1976 and has since been followed by his niece, Susan Mailman, who currently chairs the United Way Board of Directors.
This year Jim served as an Alexis de Tocqueville Society Captain, and with Nancy's assistance, secured a gift of $100,000, which represents the single largest undesignated donation received by the United Way of Central Massachusetts. |
