United Way of Central Massachusetts

Volunteer Spotlight

Day of Caring is September 10, 2014!

On September 10, keep your eyes open for more than 1,200 people in LIVE UNITED t-shirts as they take to the streets of central Massachusetts to participate in this unique community-wide event. Every year volunteers including individuals from the corporate sector, unions, and colleges, participate in one-day communities service projects created by local agencies including restoration and repair; preservation and beautification; gardening or neighborhood cleanup; and recreation and social events with community interaction and client contact.

This year marks the 21st anniversary of Day of Caring. Day of Caring is the largest one-day volunteer drive of its kind in the entire region, where more than 1,200 people volunteer to benefit nearly 100 local non-profit organizations and the clients they serve. Day of Caring is one of the many ways that United Way of Central Massachusetts connects people to resources to improve the community.
