For more than 90 years, since our founding in 1920, United Way of Central Massachusetts made the commitment to improve the lives of people in our community.
Today, we continue this commitment by connecting people and resources. As community leaders, we convene local resources - donors, volunteers, partners and agencies - to address the most critical human needs and create measurable results in the community.
Mission: United Way of Central Massachusetts connects people and resources to improve the community.
Vision: Central Massachusetts Lives United by investing in educational opportunities, supporting strong families and building healthy communities.
Community Impact is improving people's lives by bringing together local resources in order to create positive and lasting changes and measurable results in existing social conditions.
In order to create the greatest positive change, we first identified the most immediate problems we face. We then worked with volunteers and leaders to generate solutions to the most pressing needs and the most critical issues facing the Central Massachusetts community.
We've learned that our community is in a cyclical pattern, where children in need grow up to become adults in need. By focusing on the root causes and needs of our children and youth, we are able to create measurable results that are changing the future of our community.
Our Board of Directors is a dedicated group who are invaluable to our community, both for their enthusiasm in raising money and wisdom in assuring its distribution.
